Exciting Update: Transition from WEBOC to PSW for Bulk & LCL Imports of Items Under Chapters 1 to 19 of Pakistan Customs Tariff
Starting from October 28, 2022, commercial imports of Bulk & LCL consignments (HC type) classified under Chapters 1 to 19 of the Pakistan Customs Tariff will undergo a major change. This shift will affect all items, except for those listed in Annex-A of the circular, imported from customs stations across Pakistan (including Karachi seaports and all airports), excluding locations in Balochistan, KPK land border stations, and Sost Dry-port (GB).
What’s Changing?
All these imports will now be handled through the Pakistan Single Window (PSW), using the Single Declaration (SD) process for customs clearance. This move aims to streamline operations, making the import process smoother and more efficient.
For specific items under the jurisdiction of DPP, AQD, and FSC&RD, customs clearance will only proceed with the electronic issuance of Release Orders from the relevant government agencies.
Action Required for Importers
Starting October 28, 2022, traders and importers of these commodities are required to submit their customs declarations through the PSW system. This update will help simplify and speed up the clearance process for your import consignments.
Stay ahead of the game and ensure all declarations are filed through PSW for seamless and timely customs processing.
